Julia Devin can tell a sexy, steamy, hot story!!!! This book is an easy read and very entertaining! Loved it!
How come stuff like that doesn't happen in real life. Can I please find a sexy man to please me like that!!! Great read.
I'm beginning to see this author as being like a three-year-old racing in the Melbourne Cup - lots of promise as she bursts out of the stalls and streaks to the front of the field, but then she falters about mid-run and only just manages to make it home, well behind all the other, more mature, starters.
As with one of her other novels I recently read (The Burn List), the story started out really well - good setting, realistic characters, nicely constructed tension - and then it started to go pear-shaped. I found myself skipping entire pages just to get to the end of what had quickly become a ho-hum story. The characters just didn't develop beyond the tantalising glimpse of the personalities you encounter in the first couple of chapters, so you find yourself really not caring what happens in their lightly-sketched world.
Like her other novel, it was quite a short story. I hope this author takes time in the future to further develop her craft so she can start delivering longer stories with greater character development and more detailed background.
In the end, I kept the book, but I won't be going back to reread all the pages I skipped and I'm unlikely to purchase any of her other, existing works.
